They will take a very long to do the simplest of tasks, because they are obsessed with any minor imperfection that they perceive. Therapists try to help them to learn to stop when the job is done well enough, and to stop trying to strive for absolute perfection. Some patients with especially severe cases of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder require as much as three months of inpatient treatment.
